The Fruit of the Spirit – Goodness
Spiritual Fruit – In Nine Wonderful Flavors
“Goodness” is a divine attribute of God.
Given to every believer in the Fruit of the Spirit.
Spiritual Fruit of “Goodness” is not of human effort.
“Goodness” is not an inherited human ability.
“Goodness” Doesn’t come as standard equipment.
“Goodness” Doesn’t have it’s origin in us.
“Goodness” has it’s origin in God. James 1:17
God is good all the time, all the time God is good
Mark 10:17-18 Consider the words “Good” and “God”.
“Good” Master, What shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?” Jesus basically replies.
“Are you calling me God? Why callest thou me good? There is none good but one. THAT IS GOD.”
Galatians 5:22-23 The Lord places the Fruit of the Spirit in every believer as a grace gift.
Question:
Did God demonstrate goodness in The Old Testament?
Jacob received the Goodness of God: Genesis 33:11-12
Joseph described the Goodness of God: Genesis 50:20
Moses was promised the Goodness of God: Numbers 10:29
Job proclaimed the Goodness of God: Job 2:9-10
We find that “goodness” has its origin in God. Goodness proceeds from The Lord, No One Else.
Acts 11:22-24 Barnabas is described as a good man.
Question: Why? He was full of The Holy Ghost and of Faith, and much people were added unto the Lord.” (Good answer.)
Psalm 37:23-24
It is not in man to direct his own steps.
Friend: The Holy Spirit is busy in the believer producing the Fruit of the Spirit called “Goodness” Galatians 5:16
Romans 8:28-29 God, who is Good, is conforming us to the image of Christ.
Friend: We are not imitating The Lord Jesus.
That would only make us a small imitation of the real thing, the Lord Jesus.
I Corinthians 15:10 – By the Grace of God I am what I am.
Philippians 1:6 – He will perform the good work.
Colossians 1:27 – It is Christ in You.
Colossians 2:6-10 – We are Complete in Him
I Thessalonians 5:24 – Faithful is He, who also will do it.
Friend: I desire The Real Christ. Not a small imitation of the Real thing.
Will we ever be like Jesus? YES!
I John 3:1-3 Someday when we see Jesus.
As mentioned before, there are No Fruit Factories.
The Fruit of the Spirit is a grace gift from God.
Our Lord demands that we abide in the vine for without Him we can do Nothing.
John 15:4-5
I Corinthians 6:19-20
Matthew 7:12 Only possible through the Fruit of the Spirit
“Goodness” is a divine attribute of God which is given to every believer.
“Kindness” is an outward expression of compassion, care, and thoughtfulness for others.
So “Goodness” is the inner Fruit of the Spirit that motivates the outward acts of “kindness”
Keep Biding in Christ Jesus
